Tamil Heritage Centre (THC)
Tyagaraja Cultural Festival
The Centre, located in the Bharat Nivas compound, focuses on the specific need to preserve the Tamil language, and the rich heritage of the Tamil culture. The Centre also aims to act as an interactive link with the local population around Auroville, as well as with Tamil researchers from Tamil Nadu and elsewhere.
It creates a
forum for Tamil faculties of various universities, academies and cultural
centres expounding both classical and folk elements. The THC organizes annual
exhibitions, book fairs, cultural festivals and symposia, and also publishes
books and seminar papers.
