Erwane

This is to inform the community of the sudden passing of Erwane, in France, on the 8th of December. Erwane had lived in Auroville from 1982 to 1985. She was the companion of Marc-Andre Charles, whom many old-timers will remember (educated in the Ashram school he joined Auroville in 1976), and both of them lived in Brittany. They remained very connected to Auroville. Their last stay here was just one year ago and was very active as both of them worked in some units for the duration of their stay. We wish Marc-Andre lots of courage and peace.

He sent us the following text:

Erwane, to those who knew her:

In the night of the 5th of December under the disguise of a biliary disorder, she was taken to intensive care, where the intensity of the pain had taken us, and she fought tirelessly. The remarkable healthcare teams did everything during these 56 hours to relieve her and protect her against this acute pancreatitis. But her body couldn't keep it. Her heart stopped beating on Friday, December 8. I was with her throughout this journey. She now rests, according to her request, in the small cemetery of our village in Brittany.

Marc-Andre
