Cynergy

Since 2012, Cynergy has focused on a highly-versatile remote monitoring and control solution called Wattmon, which it continues to develop and promote. Over five-thousand (5000) Wattmon data loggers are being used in over forty (40) countries, monitoring over one-thousand (1000) megawatts of energy and optimizing energy generation for captive consumption as well as synchronizing operating generator sets with renewable energy sources. 

Cynergy operates within the legal structure of the Auroville Foundation, as defined in the Auroville Foundation Act, 1988, which was a unique Act of Parliament passed by the Government of India. It is a unit under ADPS Trust, which is recognised as a non-governmental organisation under the Auroville Foundation, which is overseen by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The accounts of the Foundation are audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.  

The Team

Cynergy has three unit heads or Executives. Akash Heimlich is an American national with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status, who has lived his entire life in Auroville and dedicates his time to Research and Development and running the unit. Monica Tobar, a bio-chemist by formal training, is a Spanish national who has lived in Auroville for 20 years and acts in an advisory role, while also leading the design division. Ruchir Sharma is a former ecologist who manages the operations while also overseeing the legal and accounting aspects of the unit. 

Cynergy works together with reputed consultants and outsources much of its production in order to focus on research and development, and the improvement of its product range.
